Art collection

The power of art in the workplace

The first steps to build Vanderlande’s own art collection were made in early 2021. The first artworks – selected by an art committee of our employees and an external art consultant – were installed at various locations around our campus in Veghel, The Netherlands.

As a company that sees people as its most important asset, Vanderlande believes in providing an inspirational and stimulating working environment. Art can contribute to this and act as a source of inspiration for thinking and acting creatively – especially if the chosen artworks reflect Vanderlande as a value-driven company: innovative, high-tech, dynamic, sustainable and caring for people.

The Vanderlande art collection aims to show what Vanderlande is about and how it sees the future. To build an art collection that meets these requirements, the following three themes have been defined:

  • innovation
  • global mobility
  • sustainability.

Collecting field

In line with its reputation of striving to be the best that one can be, Vanderlande is interested in acquiring work from highly-qualified artists, with a particular emphasis on those who are at the forefront of their artistic fields – or have that potential. This means that works can be acquired from both established and promising young artists.

Being an international company, the collection reflects this characteristic by acquiring work from contemporary international and Dutch artists with an international background or reference in their work.

As a company in which innovation is so important, the collection should also give a strong impression of the innovative developments within fine arts. These are not limited to just traditional art forms (such as painting and sculpture), but also incorporate photography, video and new media art.
